A large blue and white vase
Wanli period, ca. 1620, China
A baluster-shape vase with richly decorated pattern of birds and florals. The shoulder with a fretwork trellis-pattern with four flower-filled cartouches. The top of the vase decorated with scrolls and flowers around the neck under a brown trimmed rim. The unglazed base is unmarked.
H 35.5 cm
A crack in the bottom and a large chip on the top rim. No restoration. General wear from age and use.
