A Chinese bronze figure of a Bodhisattva 'Simhanada' (Lion's Roar)
Ming Dynasty, probably 17th century, China
A Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara 'Simhanada' seated on a lion. The Avalokiteshvara is seated in Lalitasana posture (Royal ease) on a guarding (not roaring) temple-lion. Faint traces of original gilding.
H 27.5 cm, W 21 cm
Bought from these premises in April 1986.
Normal wear from age and use. No damage or restoration noted.
