A Dutch burr-walnut longcase clock

By J.N. De Graaf, The Hague, in 18th-century style, but probably made first quarter 20th century

The burr-walnut case on ball-and-claw feet, the hood with openwork decoration, the dome surmounted by three giltwood figures, the silvered dial with Roman numerals, signed 'J.N. De Graaf Den Haag', indicating the day of the week, the month, the date and the lunar phase, separate dials for 'strike-silent' and 'play-not play', the mechanism with an anchor escapement, chiming the whole hour and half hour in full on different bells, playing twelve tunes on fifteen silver amalgamated bells.
