An English brass-mounted ebonised bracket clock

By Joseph Herring, London, second half 18th century

The silvered dial with Roman numerals, with mock pendulum and date aperture, with separate hands indicating 'strike/silent' and a dial with choice of six different tunes, the three-fusee mechanism with spring suspended pendulum (signed by The Hague clockmaker 'J.A.M. Mulder'), the anchor escapement striking on the whole hour, followed by a tune on eleven silvered bells.
