A large pair of Japanse cloisonne vases, Namikawa Sosuke
Meiji Period (1868-1912), Japan
Two splendid partly wireless (musen) enamel cloisonné-decorated vases. Each vase featuring a night heron on a tree branch. Marked to the bases with a Sakigake seal mark, Workshop of Namikawa Sosuke (1847-1910). Both vases on custom made wooden stands and in superb original undamaged and unrestored condition.
H 33,5 cm (or 38,5 cm including wooden stand)
The cloisonné vases in good condition: no chips, no hairlines or bruises and no restoration. One small air bubble visible on the back (see last close-up photo). One of the wooden stands with repairs.
