A pelisse of a colonel of hussars, in the style of the First Empire

20th century, France

A light-blue pelisse with white woolen fur trimmings and gold lacing. White silk lining, some wear, but slight. 18 gold/silvery froggings, with two rows of iron round buttons on one side and three on the other. Five golden lacings, pointing from the cuffs to the shoulder (colonel?). Richly decorated back of the pelisse. Buttons mostly not accessible at the back, since they are attached too tightly to the fabric. Some are stamped: 'Superieur M 18 France', also produced by the family Bagriot, 1854-1930.
