A French Fire Brigade helmet, Model 1852, adjusted during Second Empire

Second half 19th century, and later

With new horsehair comb and red plume, brass cap with neck cover, brass comb not according to model (cuirassiers, possibly Model 1857). On the front a crowned eagle, model post 1852, with spread wings, attached with three small nails, holding a sphere and Jupiter symbols in its claw. Attached over the edges of the comb-front and the visor. On the visor a display of burning barrels, fireman axes and decorative leaves.
