An Art Deco enamel cigarette case

Ca. 1920/30, France

A fine silver enamelled case with a bold geometric pattern in red and black enamel and so called 'coquille d'oeuf' (eggshell) mosaic. In original velvet lined case. Marked on the inside of case 'Echt Zilver' 935 and the initials 'J & Co'. No further markings. In the style of Jean Dunand and probably made in France.

13 x 8,5 cm

Good condition, one tiny enamel chip on one corner in the black enamel, hard to see whether a manufacturing flaw or a chip as the enamel tends to run a bit thin in the corners anyway, but apart from that it is in perfect condition with no other damage and minimal wear from age and use, no restoration. Although the original box, the cigarette case seems slightly too long for the blue velvet lined recess, but the box can be closed.
