A Dutch ormolu-mounted burr-walnut and walnut cabinet

Mid-18th century

The arched moulded cornice above a pair of panelled doors carved with scallop shells, enclosing a plain interior with five drawers, above four bombé drawers, flanked by two knees, each opening to reveal four small hidden drawers, on claw feet.

Provenance: By repute, owned by Baroness Armgard von Cramm, the mother of Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld, when living in Castle Warmelo in Diepenheim, The Netherlands.
