A blue and white kraak porcelain charger

Ming dynasty, Wanli period (1573-1619), China

A large plate depicting two deer in the centre (a symbol of longevity) with a wide border of cartouches filled with florals.

D 31,5 cm

Rim fritting and the usual manufacturing glaze flaws and imperfections (roughness and bumps in the porcelain in the glaze). The base of the dish is sagged (falls deeper than the base standing rim). No cracks or hairlines and no restoration.
