A Louis XIV ebony, tortoiseshell and brass-inlaid mantle clock, 'réligieuse'

The case decorated overall with brass foliate scrolls, and crowned by three brass flaming urn finials, the silvered dial with Roman numerals, supported by a brass figure of Time seated on a plate marked 'Claude Artus A Paris', on a velvet background, the mechanism engraved 'Glode Arteus A Paris', the verge escapement altered to anchor escapement, the eight-day mechanism with count wheel, striking once on the half hour and the whole hour in full, with cord suspended pendulum.
