A large blue glaze Swatow dish with slip decoration

Early 17th century, China

A very fine Zhangzhou ware dish, finely decorated with white slip florals on a solid blue glaze ground.

D 39,9 cm

A similar dish in the British Museum is illustrated on page 347, Ming Ceramics, London, 2001, by J. Harrison-Hall. Another similar dish sold for $16250 at Christie's NY 19-03-2008, sale 1976, lot 589.

Very good condition: no chips, no cracks or hairlines and no restoration. Normal wear from age and use. Typical flaws and imperfections in the glaze (manufacturing flaws).
