A late Louis XVI brass-banded mahogany and cherrywood architect's transformation table

Early 19th century

The moulded rectangular top with green leather lined double-hinged and ratcheted writing surface, both sides opening to reveal a fitted interior with open compartments, with inlaid initials 'M' and 'Z'. Old inventory label to the interior inscribed: 'A. Natural Le Coultre & Cie ... Genève'. The moulded frieze on four turned tapering and fluted legs on castors, the legs screw-topped to permit easy transport.
