An Art Deco vide-poche, 1920's, France

A bronze vide poche (tray) designed by and signed 'Ed.M. Sandoz' and the foundry name 'Susse Freres'. This figure of a sitting monkey was also produced as a radiator cap 'Singe Hurleur', here the design was adapated and attached to a small shallow bowl to hold keys, coins etc., called a 'vide poche' (literally 'empty pocket').

H 14 cm, L 13,5 cm

Exellent condition, normal wear from age and use but no damage or restoration. Good original patina.
