Col. linocut (printed in red, yellow, ochre & black on thin paper). Monogrammed “BvdL” & dated “’43” in the plate (in lower right corner). Ca. 8,5 x 7 cm. (image) & ca. 12 x 9 cm. (leaf). Tipped onto the upper paste-down of P. COREMANS & A. JANSSENS DE BISTHOVEN, “Van Eyck. L’Adoration de l’Agneau Mystique” (Anvers, De Nederlandsche Boekhandel, 1948).

¶ ORIGINAL COLOUR LINOCUT by BART VAN DER LECK designed (according to the principles of “De Stijl”) in 1943 as book-plate for Madeleine [Baeckers-]de Vlam (with her motto “Semper Fulgens” (Always Shining) referring to her family name “De Vlam”) & printed in a very small number of copies (approximately 80 copies). Our copy differs slightly in design from other copies we have traced (upper right corner & lower left corner printed in ochre). – Occ. sl. foxed (on verso), but else in good condition.
