Lamsvelt), 2 ident. woodcut title-vignettes, 1 large fold. engraved profile view (“’s Gravenhage”, ca. 29,5 x 40,5 cm.) & 8 engraved views (of which 3 fold.) by i.a. J. Lamsvelt. 4to (ca. 21,5 x 17,5 cm.), early 18th-cent. blind-stamped panelled vellum with blind-stamped fleur-de-lis oblique in each corner of the inner panel.

First edition of the first extensive description of The Hague by the Dutch notary Gysbert de Cretser (ca. 1640-1729). The third part with a separate title: [C. HUYGENS], “De Zee-Straet van ’s Graven-Hage op Schevening [..]” (Amsterdam, J. ten Hoorn, 1711). ¶ A few minor imperfections (binding sl. stained/ soiled, engr. profile view sl. torn in outer margin, occ. sl. foxed/ browned), but nevertheless in good condition.
