Complete set (nicely bound in 18th-cent. “mirror-bindings”) of the first & only edition of the most extensive description of The Hague by the Dutch historian & lawyer Jacob de Riemer (1676-1762) profusely illustrated with engravings mainly by the Dutch print-maker Jan Caspar Philips (1690-1775) after the Dutch artist Gerrit van Giessen (1692-1750). Ex bibliotheca Karel Lansberg (1879-1971, Dutch banker). ¶ With defects to the bindings (spine of vol. I dam., part of backstrip of vol. I missing & loosening, spine-ends dam./ chipped, bindings rubbed/ worn along extremities). Small portion of upper blank margin of 1 plan of Scheveningen torn off, a few fold. engravings sl. torn on folds, occ. sl. foxed/ browned, but nevertheless in a good interior condition.
