Folio (ca. 39 x 26 cm.), late 19th-/ early 20th-cent. unif. gilt tree-calf, both covers with central gilt ornament & gilt border around sides, gilt ribbed spine with 2 contrasting morocco letterpieces, marbled edges. Complete set of the first & only Dutch edition of a standard work on Dutch coins & medals (concerning the period 1555-1716) by the Dutch lawyer Gerard van Loon (1683-1758) comprising ca. 2.400 text-pp. (incl. extensive indices) depicting ca. 2.500 coins & medals. Ex bibliotheca Henri François van Kinschot (with his heraldic book-plate mounted on second free end-papers). ¶ Lacks the engraved frontisp. in vol. 1. A few minor imperfections (spines sl. rubbed/ worn, several leaves in vol. 3 sl. waterstained in lower blank margin, heraldic collector’s mark on title & half-title in vol. 3, partly foxed/ browned), but nevertheless an attractively bound set in good condition (printed with wide margins).
