Two Delft pottery tobacco jars with copper lids
Ca. 1800, Netherlands
Each showing a pipe smoking man, standing on a shore next to a ship and a barrel as well as two baskets filled with turf. The text reads "De Vriessche Turfschipper" (The Frisian Turf Shipper). Marked LPK for De Porceleyne Lampetkan.
H 30.5 (without lids), or 42.5 cm (with lids)
The pottery in good condition. A few tiny glaze flakes and some age crazing with darkened lines. No cracks and no restoration. The lids with the finials dented.
