Engraved bird’s-eye view (by Adolf van der Laan) with Dutch title at top & 6 stanzas with 4-line Dutch verses below. (Publ. in Amsterdam by Bernardus Mourik, ca. 1740). Ca. 41,5 x 56 cm. Framed (behind glass).

¶ Muller (Ned. Historieplaten) 3773c. Atlas Van Stolk 3597. Very rare 18th-cent. large-sized panoramic view of Batavia in the former Dutch East Indies (only 3 copies in NCC) engraved by the Dutch print-maker Adolf van der Laan (ca. 1690-1742) published around 1740 in Amsterdam by the Dutch printer Bernardus Mourik (active ca. 1734-1791). – Vertical fold in the middle, occ. sl. foxed/ browned, but nevertheless in good condition (not examined out of frame).
