“Colon[iae]. Agripp[inae]. Typis Gisberti Cleme[n]tis [..]” [=Köln, G. Clemens], [1630], [14],1153,[3 index],[1] pp. With engraved title. Small 8vo (ca. 15,5 x 9,5 cm.), early 17th-cent. blind-stamped panelled pigskin over wooden boards, both covers with 2 metal clasps & catches (upper clasp with an unidentified monogram “BH”), ribbed spine, red edges.

¶ Provenance: The Feeterse Collection. Van der Aa III, p. 268. Very rare edition (only 3 copies in NCC) of a scholarly work on the Psalms by the Dutch theologian Mattheus Hoen (died in 1653). Owner’s entry of “L.M. van Pinxteren” in black ink on second free end-paper. ¶ Small pigskin ribbon at lower clasp replaced by brown leather. Foxed/ browned throughout, small waterstain in lower blank margin at the end, outer blank margin of 1 preliminary leaf & 1 index-leaf sl. cropped (with loss of a few letters & numbers), small (worm-)hole in outer (blank) margin of leaf Cccc1 & 2 final index-leaves, lower blank corner of leaves I1, P1 & V3 torn off, but nevertheless a very nice binding in good condition.
