A gilded copper Sarvabuddhadakini from Tibet

Tibet, 18th century

Standing in pratyalidhasana on human figures on a separate lotus base, her face with third eye and polychrome details surmounted by a vajra, incised long hair, her bare body sensitively modeled and gold gilded, pierced earlobes, in her raised left hand holding a blood filled kapala. Provenance:

  • Christie's Amsterdam 18-11-1996 lot 145.
  • Private collection, Amsterdam.

H 31 cm

Flaking of the gilding and black enamel of her hair. The flaming aureole missing. Some dents to the base and general wear consistent with age.
