¶ Provenance: The property of the descendants of Anton Philips (1874-1951). Wurzbach I, p. 394. Muller (Portretten) 41a (“Zeer zeldzaam portr[et]”). Very rare large-sized engraving depicting a portrait of William I, Prince of Orange (1533-1584) based on a painting by the Dutch artist Adriaen Pietersz. van de Venne (ca. 1589-1662). – Small repaired tear in upper right corner, occ. sl. foxed/ browned, but nevertheless in good condition (not examined out of frame).
