A Dutch carved and marbleised hall bench
Second quarter 18th century
The arched shaped back carved with exuberant rocaille and foliage, two large scrolls spiralling towards the side, centered by a shaped cartouche representing Mercury rescuing Io from a sleeping Argus Panoptes, above a rectangular plank seat with swag apron, supported by two baluster legs carved with scallops, redecorated, the legs with later reinforcement.
