Vali Myers on 'March Hare': "March Hare from a Red Indian story: ‘The Hare is born of a God and a human Mother. She died in childbirth and he is raised by his Grandmother, the Earth’. Her sleeves are great Sunflowers and she holds Hare in her lap between her breasts. There is Gianni with a little toad in his hand and Bastienne, the Vesuvian goat with her 2 kids. Below them is the big female dog Suzy who always smiled, the best friend of Foxy who sits by her side. And the black sheep with her white lamb."(Vali Myers. Drawings 1949-79', London 1980, p. 92.)
