[PROFESSIONS] – [JANSSEN VAN TER GOES, A.]. Menschelyke Beezigheeden.

Bestaande in Regeering, Konsten en Ambachten, Na orde van het A.B.C, in honderd figuuren, Zinrijk uitgebeeld, in koper geëst en gesneeden. Met veerzen, daartoe passende, door A.J[anssen]. t’Amsterdam verkooft bij A. d[e]. Winter en J. Bormeester, 1695, consisting of an engraved title & 90 (of 100) numbered engraved plates (dep. various professions) after Jan & Casper Luyken. Small 4to, 19th-cent. marbled boards (partly worn).

¶ Klaversma/ Hannema 741. Very rare pirated edition (only 1 copy in NCC) of Luyken’s “Het Menselyk Bedryf” (Amsterdam, 1694) probably counterfeited by the Dutch printmaker Anthonie de Winter (ca. 1652-ca. 1707). All engravings (ca. 12 x 8 cm.) with Dutch verses by Anthony Janssen van ter Goes (ca. 1626-1699) & printed on LARGE PAPER (ca. 19,5 x 15,5 cm.). – Lacks 10 engravings (no. 30-31, 45, 48, 50-51, 58-59 & 94-95). Sold as a collection of prints (not subject to return).
