Please compare this lot to a work of Van der Croos with a similar composition, sold at: Christie's, Amsterdam, 3 December 1985, lot 129, as: 'A view of the Tolbrug on the Vliet at Rijswijk with a peasant couple in a rowing boat'. And compare to a painting by Karel la Fargue (active 1753-1793) 'House and the Nieuwe Tolbrug near Rijkswijk, as seen from the northeast'. And to Jan ten Compe (1713-1761) 'Huis Burchvliet bij de Tolbrug' (1750).
