-Daniel Franken, 'L' oeuvre de Charles Rochussen: essai d'un catalogue raisonné de ses tableaux, dessins, lithographies, eaux-fortes', Rotterdam 1894, p. 138 as 'Le General Brune en Hollande' (with correction note in pencil by H. Jüngling, The Hague 1955: this is not Le Brune but the Duke of York with the English regiment, and the Prince van Oranje, 27 years old. One of the generals would be Russian).

The watercolour depicts Prince Willem Frederik van Oranje-Nassau and Maréchal d'Empire Guillaume Brune along with a Russian general at Castricum in 1799.
