Handcol. engr. panoramic bird’s-eye view (printed on 2 leaves) with cartouche, 2 coats-of-arms & legend below (listing 23 items with Dutch & German text) after F.B. Werner. Publ. by the heirs of Jeremias Wolff (“Haered. Ier. Wolffij”) (Augsburg, after 1729). Ca. 34 x 97,5 cm. Behind passepartout & framed (behind glass).

¶ Van der Haer p. 115. Rare impressive large-sized 18th-cent. profile view of The Hague published by members of the German family of print-makers Probst (i.a. Johann Balthasar Probst, 1673-1750) who were the heirs of the German engraver Jeremias Wolff (1663-1724). In the eighteenth century they published a series of panoramic views of various European cities based on designs by the German artist Friedrich Bernhard Werner (1690-1776). – Vertical fold in the middle, faint waterstain in upper part, a few small foxed spots, but nevertheless in good condition (not examined out of frame).
