Indonesian Art. Selected specimens of ancient and modern art and handwork from the Dutch Indian Archipelago. The Hague, Martinus Nijhoff, 1901, consisting of 25 Roman numbered hélio-engraved plates (depicting various objects) accompanied by 60 explanatory text-pages (including title & preface). Folio (ca. 48 x 35 cm.), loose as issued in the original decorated yellow cloth portfolio. ¶ Rouffaer/ Muller p. 548. First & only edition by the Dutch ethnologist Cornelis Marinus Pleyte (1863-1917). The monochrome plates were phototyped by Emrik & Binger (Haarlem). – A few minor imperfections (portfolio slightly stained & soiled, one text-leaf slightly discoloured in outer margins), but nevertheless in a good interior condition.
